I am a voter

I belongs to the marginalised layer of the community spectrum in India, a group of people little educated. I make my own opinion on issues by reading news papers, connected through social media. I make opinions based on the information available to me, I have no control on the media which is actually producing information. Of course, I know media can manipulate or disproportionately promote few issues based on their individual interests or commercial benefits they are getting form. So others can manipulate my opinion by giving false inputs.

There is an another layer, which is bottom in the spectrum, most of the people in India belongs to this layer, people who can not read & write or illiterate!! They have mostly no source of information apart from a small group of people meeting evening and talking together based on freshly cooked head lines by the news channels and Opinions will be formed in these groups of people based on beliefs, this belief drive people towards loyalty. For example at the time of telangana separate state agitation many people believed that the lives of individuals will change positively towards a quality of life as an immediate effect after formation of their own state.

TRS chief himself promised that, 'the first chief minister of telangana will be a Dalit' people of newly formed Telangana state not bothered, even this promise was ducked out,  Another example, during demonetisation people believed that black money in India will abolished completely & many believed that the collected black money will be freely distributed individual bank accounts but the dreams and hopes of the people blown off.

Majority of the politicians will play on this ground of 'belief' or 'Fealty', and individuals who will form opinions based on beliefs, it was happened to vote congress party for decades based on this fealty. Now those days of utopia gone for Congress, similar situation for communist parties in West Bengal. Political parties who can successfully bluff, manipulate voters with their strategy they will take the opportunity to form the government.

In this bluffing and manipulation process all the political parties are using caste, religion, local - non local cards, promises about the cash benefits like loan waiver to succeed. In fact TDP was successfully used this loan waiver to impress the voters. Even after 3 years of the time promise was not completely fulfilled. CMs of the both Telugu states implementing same strategy by giving positive news in media. So with this Duo thinking they can manage the people's belief.

But I have an example to explain manipulating or managing of the belief is not always possible, i.e., recent UP Election. Negative impulses of currency demonetisation coming out slowly at that time of election. People noticed and got idea that, they are hardly getting any amount in their bank accounts. But surprisingly there is a trumping majority given to BJP where as on the other hand, publicity happing in media about demonetisation, Hindufication of the country, intolerance issues, highlighting negative statements by the people inside BJP happening simultaneously. These factors didn't worked!! But people bothered about the corruption, misuse of public money, goon gangs, anarchy, nepotism, prejudice and discrimination.

So, finally I wanted to communicate that many times in India there are discussions about corruption with in the people who actually voting, same time there are other things like populistic promises, external disturbances, internal emergencies may over take while, a voter chooses a political party to vote.

But I have a hope, a day will come in India, voter will choose his vote based on transparency, good governance and honesty, that day his vote doesn't carry any religious colour, any caste or oppression taste, doesn't carry belief smell, it's as clear as his honesty as clear as his anger. Let's wait for that day.
