Myanmar is a country, which we have been hearing a lot about recently. International media saying that situation in Burma is with slit throats, burnt villages, dead children and raped women in thousands, although Burmese officials claiming this as a fake news, saying Rohingya Muslims set their own homes ablaze to hijack the attention of the world, but over 200 villages was burned to the ground, thousands of homes, is this all to attract international attention? some media houses says it’s otherwise!
Uppatasanti Pagoda - Temple or tower of Peace a known construction built in Naypyidaw, new capital of Myanmar formally known as Burma to showcase “Burma is for peace”. Burmese government failed to show the similar intensity and seriousness about peace. Government interested in suppressing the media and others who is having an important role to make the world know about the current situation.
PHIL Robertson form a news agency called Human Rights watch, says that “Burmese military committed ethnic cleansing in Rakhine”, 400,000 of Rohingya have fled with fear, in that over 200,000(source: UNICEF) are children. “Refugees saying due to army planting Land mines across the border with Bangladesh and soldiers shooting at them as they try to flee”. He concluded.
UN is saying it’s a clear “ Textbook Example of ethnic cleansing”. But Human rights hero, not accepting it as it is. Whole world stood by Aung San Suu Kyi and even giving Nobel Peace Prize for non violent struggle for democracy and human rights.
Lot many hopes on Suu Kyi form the world as she viewed a symbol of democracy, icon for peace and expected that she will stands for the oppressed. So as the world cries out the bloodshed must stop immediately. But in reality no one doing anything to stop. Even few countries started selling weapons to Burma make further damage. Buddhist nationalist from the Self claimed peaceful religion saying that there is no place for the people form Bangladesh who are illegally trying to occupy their country.
Bloodshed story was intensified after suspected Rohingya terrorists attack the security forces. Myanmar military has every right to punish them who involved in that according to law but not civilians.
There is an other view stating that it’s a war for the libation of Islamic state of Rakhine, a separate country. In this process Rohingyas join hands with terrorists and doing unrest activities. So obviously state should take action against them. Recent findings of gas and petroleum mines few places in Bay of Bengal coast of Rakhine State may also a probable reason, Myanmar don’t wanted to lose control on that land, if Rohingyas are became strong in future it may be an another headache. Few quoting an example Hungarian ethnic group became a minority in its own country in the 18th century due to the resettlement policies and continuous immigration from neighboring countries. Similarly these are migrants form Bangladesh they came to Burma and now they started separation politics.
Some libaral idealists saying, Aung San have NO power over army and constitution at all. As soon as she will speak in open against the army in this case she will end in jail for ever. Many of us wondering for the serious intervention of UNO in the leadership of US, UK and other countries, but they are not interested may be because Myanmar is not a major player or not a strategic location unlike Syria or Korea.
